An absolutely incredible spot for a coffee and a bite to eat. This is a great spot to come for breakfast if you’re an early riser due to time difference when traveling. Our home time is about 3 hours ahead so we are always ready for breakfast here about 6 am which is opening time here! The actual restaurant is fun, clean and a really cool vibe. We ordered some coffees (the coffee itself was so good let alone turned into a latte or breve) we definitely will be coming back this trip. They also have goodies to go! There were scones, brownies, cookies, muffins, breads etc. We ordered the pineapple French toast and a protein bowl for breakfast. We didn’t have to wait long, the food was so hot and so fresh. The French toast was decadent, served with a creamed cheese mixture that lightened up the heaviness of the bread and brought out the flavor of the pineapple beautifully. The power bowl was just as fresh with potatoes bacon and eggs and fresh arugula paired with a house made pimento. Such a tasty way to start the day.

We ordered the pork sandwich, an acai bowl, and a dessert and everything was so good. The pork in the sandwich was really smoky and flavorful, and the bun was warm, soft, and slightly chewy. The acai bowl toppings were super fresh! The banana was perfect and the coconut granola was really good too. The acai itself was on the icier, thicker side, which paired well with the granola. The dessert was amazing as well, with a pie crust base, taro in the middle, and coconut on top. And the nut latte was rly good

Great spot with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The coffee is consistently good, and they have a solid food menu with great gluten-free options. Perfect place to relax with a cup of coffee and breakfast. You might even get a visit from the local Java cat!!

We were very impressed with both our drinks and the food. You can tell the food is all made in house even down to the bun for the breakfast sandwich and the grandpa on the açaí bowl. Delicious food, will definitely be back. The wait can get very long.

So glad I found them, we went there 2 times in a week ! Everything was fresh and delicious. Price was correct for the amount of food you get. The place is nice. There are some good vegetarian option but I would definitely recommend the breakfast burrito

I’m not sure why this isn’t more like a 4.8-4.9 stars. Everything is super fresh. Their sandwiches seem to be more fresh than a lot of sandwiches in the mainland states. Even something as simple as a turkey club was a step above. Coffees (we got white mochas) were awesome!! Oh and the potato salad is so unique compared to what I’m accustomed to in the Midwest states. Really enjoyable flavors.

Amazing breakfast place in Kapa. Friendly and welcoming service. Each dish we tasted was so good. Kids went bananas over the banana bread. We went back the next day to get some for our plan ride back home. Plenty of parking front and back. Finding a place to sit inside could be a little tricky at busy times, but there are also outdoor seating if it’s not too wet from rains.

We've been going to Java Kai for years, and it continues to be one of our favorite spots on Kauaʻi. Whether you're looking for a smoothie, fresh juice, coffee, breakfast sandwich, or just a place to relax for a bit, they always do a great job. Today I tried their online ordering system for the first time while passing through Kapaʻa on my way home. The process was incredibly easy, fast, and convenient. My order was ready when I arrived, and the team took care of me right away. What really stood out was a small act of great customer service. As I was picking up my smoothie and getting ready to leave, an employee noticed it didn't have whipped cream. He asked if I had ordered it, checked my order to confirm, and then happily added it for me. It was such a simple thing, but it showed that he genuinely cared about making sure I got exactly what I ordered and had the best experience possible. The entire team at Java Kai consistently does an excellent job. It's a great place to bring family, friends, and visiting guests, and it's also perfect when you just need to grab something quick on the go. Highly recommended.

This place came highly recommended by locals. Very unique atmosphere! Very busy but service was excellent. They make their own syrups in house as well as made-from-scratch pastries! They offer a few gluten free treats. The banana syrup is delicious!!
